Founded
in 1986 – Committed to Design, Craftsmanship, Service and Responsibility
 What
transforms four walls into a space for inspired living? In 1986, this
question spurred our founders to create Arhaus. We believed then as we do
now that great design, natural materials and exquisite craftsmanship could
enhance not just a home but also the lives of the people who live there.
We started by renovating an
historic 130-year old building on the Cuyahoga River to serve as showroom,
warehouse and corporate office. Then we took to the road, knocked on
workshop doors, and searched out craftsmen and artisans to partner with us.
Together we created quality products that reflected a modern sensibility, yet
delivered timeless appeal. Our customers responded with wonderful support
and with their ideas and inspiration.
Our company founder, who
continues to manage the business today, dem anded uniformly excellent customer service from
everyone on the new Arhaus team. At a time when retail service quality
seemed to be declining everywhere, Arhaus became a safe harbor where associates
actually knew product details and also knew how to listen to the customer.
For us-- it has always been a lifelong relationship, not a transaction.
We were also firmly committed to
respect the earth and to use only renewable resources. This was never a
business choice. It is an ideal that reflects on who we are and what we
care about. Nature is our inspiration.
We knew that we would succeed if
we remained true to this vision of beauty, craftsmanship, service and
responsibility.

We have enjoyed sustained and
carefully managed growth every year since 1986. Today, we operate over
thirty retail locations in thirteen states with over 550 associates, as well as
an international internet and catalog delivery business.
We are very grateful for the
success that our loyal Arhaus customers have made possible. We honor them
by staying true to the ideals that brought them to us in the first place.
