Rattan pole requires no maintenance but can be wiped with a lightly dampened cloth if needed.
Cracking may occur if left in direct sunlight or a dry environment. To prevent this, moisten the rattan every month using a damp white cotton cloth and let dry naturally.
As rattan ages, it will take on a more muted, lived-in shade. To preserve its beauty, use your piece indoors and avoid exposure to the sun.

Blot spills immediately with a damp cloth. Do not rub the soiled area. Gently dab and blot instead, allowing remaining moisture to dry naturally. Rubbing can cause abrasions, permanently damaging the rattan.
For harder to remove stains, use a soft brush and mild soapy water and rinse well. Then let it dry naturally. Avoid the use of cleaners and abrasives, as these will damage the rattan.
For dusting, vacuum the rattan weaves periodically using a soft brush attachment or comb the surface with a soft bristle brush. This can help dislodge and remove some of the debris left behind in-between the weaves.

Avoid letting water stand on surfaces and cushions. Do not allow wet cushions to sit on a frame for extended periods of time, as trapped moisture will contribute to the deterioration of the finish.
Cushions may show signs of wear and lose shape after use. To help prevent this, periodically rotate cushions to distribute wear.
Spot-clean cushions and upholstery using a clean, absorbent, undyed cloth with a blotting motion. Blot from the outside towards the middle of the soiled area to prevent rings. Never scrub.
For tough stains, spray the area lightly with clear, mild dish soap, liquid laundry detergent, or cleaning solvent and water. Agitate with a sponge or soft-bristle brush as necessary. Blot clean and thoroughly rinse with water to remove residue. Allow to air-dry.
For mold and mildew, InsideOut Performance Fabrics can be cleaned using a diluted solution of a 10:1 of a bleach to water ratio. Apply the solution lightly using a spray bottle and agitate with a sponge or soft-bristle brush. Blot and rinse thoroughly. Allow to air-dry.
Avoid over-rubbing and never clean fabrics with a hard-bristle brush as this could damage fibers.
Cushions should be dusted weekly with a soft-bristle brush to remove dirt.
Excessive sunlight and outdoor elements can damage natural materials over time. To preserve the finish and look of your sunroom or three-season furniture, protect your piece with a furniture cover or store in a temperature-regulated room when not in use.
