The Embrace of Centuries

In Manzano, generations of artisans come together to create, to preserve their art and to continue the work that sustains their community.

In addition to careful considerations of comfort, style, safety and strength, each chair built here carries the weight of generations. These small factories and studios have been responsible for sustaining this region for centuries. In every return visit, you can feel the unwavering dedication of the artisans and merchants keeping their craft alive.

What began with inventive farmers making chairs for their families during cold 15th century winters carries on. In hammered wooden molds. By skilled hands. And through modern innovations.

Every day chairs are sketched, cut, assembled, stained and upholstered. Then, stacked and set, they wait for multiple inspections. Each cared for as if they were being built for the maker’s own use, as they once were. With strong backs and arms, a confident stance, and a pillar-like strength, each of these chairs stands alone. Projecting both classic and modern traits. Fully resembling their makers.
